Beautiful ancient presbetery dating fron the 11th century, built on the clifftop foundations which dominates the village of Les Taillades . It is a property of great charachter and is in an eXceptional position overlooking the Luberon national Park. The house is positioned at the end of an ancient causeway that rises up above the lower half of the village. This quiet causeway has only four other properties along it and feels very much like your own private road. Every window in the house has breathtaking, panoramic views over the the natural beauty of the Luberon National Park. It is a truly magical and romantic spot. Adjoining the property is the house’s own ancient 11th century chapel which was once the chapel for the village and at the front of the property is the courtyard garden and ancient well, now no longer used. The old village is medieval in origin and was once an important stone quarrying center. The quarries were abandoned at the end of the XIX century and now have been transformed into an open air theatre where dance and theatre concerts are held in august and at christmas In the village below the house there is a lovely restaurant with typical provencal cuisine,a delightful bakery/patisserie a village shop open everyday of the week selling food and newspapers and also a pharmacy.
